Explosion at Quick Turn Anodizing in Guthrie, KY: 1 Dead, 4 Injured

One person was killed and four others were injured in a January 18 explosion at Quick Turn Anodizing on Second Street in Guthrie, KY. The blast occurred just before 1 p.m. when a truck was pumping waste from the facility and the sludge mixed with used cooking oil in the tank and exploded, according to NewsChannel5 Nashville.

An employee was killed when the explosion ripped through the plant. Four people were injured when the tank blew apart spraying hot oil on the truck driver, a city employee, the owner of the company, and another employee. The people injured people were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for treatment of burn injuries.
