2 Dead After Explosion in Martin County, TX

Two people are dead after an explosion in Martin County, TX on March 3.  Anthony Lara, 20, of San Antonio and Noel Olivas Jr., 22, of Midland were part of a crew that was working on a heater treater, a device that uses heat on oil and water emulsions to prepare the oil for pipeline transport. They died from injuries sustained in the blast.

The explosion occurred around 4:00 p.m. as the crew worked on a site located about 15 miles north of Stanton.  An investigation is ongoing.
