Propane Explosion at Agri Star in Postville, IA Injures 2

Two people were injured in a propane explosion at the Agri Star meatpacking plant in Postville, IA yesterday. One of the men suffered facial burns, the other sustained injuries to his leg and chest.
The explosion at the plant, located in the 200 block of North West Street, occurred around 3 p.m. after a 100-pound liquid propane cylinder that had been damaged by a forklift started leaking gas which eventually found an ignition source.
Both of the men were taken to an area hospital. An update on their current condition was not provided.
