Three Injured in East Bethel House Explosion [Updated]
Updated February 7 Three men were injured in a house explosion in East Bethel, MN this morning. Keith Hyovalti, 35 of Oak Grove, William Swanson, 47, of Zimmerman, and James Wells, 47, of Coon Rapids were injured in the blast that occurred around 8:25 a.m. at a house under construction in the 2800 block of Viking Boulevard.
The North Metro Special Rescue Team was called to the scene to help rescue the men who were trapped beneath the wreckage of the home. All of them were transported to Hennepin Healthcare, one of them by air ambulance.
Two of the men worked for 3 Way Electric of Anoka, according to a report by KARE11. It is not yet known where the third man is employed.
Hours after the explosion, crews from Xcel Energy were on the scene checking for gas leaks, according to MPR News. Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the explosion.
