Wappingers Falls Gas Explosion Injures 10 in NY
Ten people were injured in a Wappingers Falls, NY explosion that occurred after workers struck a gas line. Eight of the injured adults and children who suffered burns and blast injuries are being treated at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY.
Emergency responders arrived at 4 Brick Row around 12:15 p.m. to find part of a brick multifamily building collapsed with victims trapped in the rubble. The explosion occurred after Central Hudson contractors doing routine maintenance hit a 3/4-inch gas service line, authorities told WABC-TV. A fire followed the blast.
