Austell, Georgia House Explosion Injures Father and Son, 6

A 6-year-old boy and his father were injured in a house explosion in Austell, Georgia on June 30.  They are being treated for serious burn injuries at a Cobb County hospital.  A fire followed explosion which occurred around 9 p.m. completely destroying the home.

Neighbors told Alive11.com that they heard a loud boom and went outside. When they saw the house collapsing in flames, they called 9-1-1 and ran to help. They waited for the ambulance with the badly injured father and son.

Investigators are still trying to identify the source of the blast.
