Baltimore Building Explosion Critically Injures Nine People
At least 21 people were injured, nine critically, in an explosion at the Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) building in downtown Baltimore this morning. A release from BGE says that the explosion was caused by construction work on the building’s air handling and boiler system. A total of 23 people were rescued by the Baltimore Fire Department, including a window washing crew. Twenty-one people were hospitalized. Of those who were injured, nine people were in critical condition and one was in serious condition.
