Greenwood Township House Explosion Leaves 1 Dead, I Injured in MN

One woman is dead and a man is seriously injured after a house explosion on Lake Vermillion in Minnesota. First responders were called to the home near the 1700 block of Everett Bay Road in Greenwood Township around 9:30 a.m. on October 27. When they arrived, they found the man who owns the house in the yard with serious injuries, according to a report from KBJR. He was airlifted to Essentia-St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth for treatment of his injuries.

Authorities have not released the names of the man and woman who were both believed to be inside the home when the explosion occurred. First responders found the woman’s remains inside the home which was completely destroyed by the fire that followed the explosion.

Greenwood Township is located west of Tower and includes the western portion of Lake Vermillion. First responders from eight agencies responded to the emergency call. An investigation into the source of the explosion by the Sheriff’s Office and State Fire Marshal is underway.
