Howell, MI Explosion Leaves 1 Man with Severe Burns

A man in Howell, MI suffered severe burns when a furnace he was working on exploded around 4:45 p.m. on May 10. Larry Mikinka suffered second- and third-degree burns to face and was transported to the burn unit at the University of Michigan Hospital.

Mikinka will require skin grafts and other treatment, his son told local media. The blast destroyed his home.

The family has set up a GoFundMe with a fundraising goal of $100,000 to help cover medical bills.
