Lake Catherine Boat Explosion Injures 6 in Hot Springs, Arkansas

A boat explosion injured six people on Lake Catherine in Hot Springs, AR on June 22, 2019. The explosion occurred around 1 p.m. as the boat was being unloaded at a boat ramp. Three of the people who were injured sustained serious burns and were airlifted from the scene. The three others were rushed to an area hospital via ambulance for treatment of their explosion injuries.

Cheryl Vincent, superintendent of the park located about 55 miles southwest of Little Rock, told local media that the explosion occurred when the driver started the boat.
