Lyons, Kansas House Explosion, One Man Dead

One man is dead after a May 27 house explosion in Lyons, Kansas.  A fire followed the blast which occurred just after 11:30 p.m. The man, whose name has not yet been released, was the only person inside the home, located in the 300 block of Meadowlark Drive.

Neighbors said the man was in his 60s and  had lived at the home for about 10 years.

Investigators from the Kansas State Fire Marshal’s office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms are still working to determine the cause of the explosion.
