Bois Blanc, MI Explosion: 2 Injured are Airlifted from Island
Two people injured when a cottage on Bois Blanc Island in Michigan exploded on May 22 were airlifted from the scene. A fire followed the explosion. One of the victims was trapped beneath the rubble of the cottage and was freed by emergency responders.
About 12 miles long, Bois Blanc, located to the southeast of Mackinac Island is home to year-round and seasonal residents.
Fire crews from the Mackinac Island Fire Department and Bois Banc Fire Department were at the scene for several hours.
