Man Dies After Greenhouse Tank Explosion in Orem, UT

A Utah man died when a commercial greenhouse tank exploded in Orem, UT. The explosion happened at around 8:30 AM on Thursday at Cook’s Farm and Greenhouse, located at 1645 W 1600 N. Efren Perez Sanchez (39) was using a pressurized air tank to spray greenhouse plants when the tank exploded and struck him in the head, killing him. Orem Police say the tank failed but have not given details about what may have caused the explosion. The greenhouse will be closed for two days while the police and OSHA investigate.
