Natural Gas Suspected in Detroit House Explosion
Natural gas is the suspected source of a Detroit house explosion that left two people injured and one person unaccounted for. The blast, which occurred around 4 a.m. today, leveled the home located on Archdale St. near Warren Ave. and damaged several others.
Neighbors told local media that they had smelled gas in the hours prior to the explosion. DTE shut off gas to the area and are investigating the source of the leak.
One of the people who was injured, a 46-woman who suffered burns to her face and hands, said the explosion occurred as she tried to light a crack pipe.
