Teenage Girl Seriously Injured in Indiana Propane House Explosion

Explosion lawyer - Lithium battery fire

A teenage girl suffered serious burn injuries in a propane gas house explosion in South Whitley, IN last Friday. At the time of the blast, 16-year-old Summer West and her mother were both inside the house. The teen’s bedroom was located in the basement of the house, which is where the explosion started. “Her whole room was consumed with flames and she literally had to run through the flames to get upstairs, to get out of the house,” her father Jerry West told local news outlets. The teen suffered third-degree burn injuries on her arms, legs, and hands. She is currently being treated at St. Joseph Hospital’s burn unit in Fort Wayne. A family friend launched a Go Fund Me fundraiser to support the West family.
